Imperial Beach is located in San Diego County, California. Featured in novels, television shows and movies, the beach often belies the name “Pacific” with its sometimes massive waves that so appeal to surfers.

Whether I shot from beneath the massive pier, or alongside the shore in the afternoon under sun-dappled skies, or as the sun set over the Pacific, I ended up with some of the most beautiful beach scenes I’ve ever captured. Palm trees sway in the wind and gulls wheel overhead in the absolutely perfect weather that graces the area so much of the year. While the beaches are often crowded, by carefully planning my shots I was able to emphasize nature and avoid scenes of teeming tourists. The results were stunning.
